◆ THE GRAND ATHENAEUM ◆
GRAND ATHENAEUM
Terms of Use for Digital Artifacts
UNIVERSE OF DESTINY
Effective June 20, 2026
| By purchasing and downloading any digital artifact published by The Grand Athenaeum, the buyer agrees to be bound by these Terms of Use. These terms exist to protect the creative architecture of the Universe of Destiny, the authorship of Daniel, and the integrity of every artifact published under the Grand Athenaeum seal. The purchase of a digital artifact does not convey ownership, authorship, or any right of reproduction — it grants a limited license to read. Nothing more, and nothing less. |
SECTION 1. DEFINITIONS
For the purposes of these Terms of Use, the following terms shall carry the meanings assigned below. Each defined term, wherever it appears in this document, shall be understood in accordance with its definition as stated herein.
| Term | Definition |
| “Artifact” | Any digital document, PDF, manuscript, or publication bearing the Grand Athenaeum seal and published under the Universe of Destiny, including but not limited to Epistolary Artifacts, Style Guides, Chronicles, and Ceremonial Manuscripts. |
| “Buyer” | Any individual or entity who purchases, receives, or downloads an Artifact through The Grand Athenaeum’s authorized store or distribution channels. |
| “Author” | Daniel, the sole creator, rights holder, and architect of the Universe of Destiny and all Artifacts published thereunder. |
| “The Grand Athenaeum” | The publishing identity and archival authority under which all Artifacts of the Universe of Destiny are produced and distributed. |
| “License” | The limited, personal, non-transferable right to access and read an Artifact as granted by these Terms upon purchase, as further described in Section 2. |
SECTION 2. GRANT OF LICENSE
Upon purchase and payment confirmation, the Buyer is granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to perform the following acts, and no others:
- Access and read the purchased Artifact on personal devices for personal, non-commercial use only; and
- Store a single personal backup copy of the Artifact on a personal device or private cloud storage account for archival purposes only.
This License is granted solely to the Buyer at the time of purchase. It is not transferable, sublicensable, or assignable to any third party under any circumstance, whether for compensation or free of charge, in whole or in part. Any purported transfer of this License shall be null and void and shall constitute an immediate violation of these Terms.
SECTION 3. RESTRICTIONS — WHAT IS NOT PERMITTED
The Buyer expressly acknowledges and agrees that the following actions are strictly prohibited. Each restriction stated below is a material condition of the License, and violation of any single restriction shall constitute a breach of these Terms in their entirety.
| 3.1 No Printing The Artifact may not be printed in any form — physical, digital-to-physical, or otherwise. The Artifact is a digital-only work and is licensed for screen reading exclusively. No printed reproduction, whether partial or complete, is authorized under any circumstance. |
| 3.2 No Reproduction or Copying The Buyer may not reproduce, copy, screenshot, scan, transcribe, or duplicate any portion of the Artifact in any medium, format, or channel. This prohibition applies to all forms of reproduction, whether manual, mechanical, photographic, electronic, or digital. |
| 3.3 No Redistribution or Sharing The Buyer may not share, distribute, forward, upload, post, email, or otherwise transmit the Artifact or any portion thereof to any other person or entity, whether for compensation or free of charge, through any platform, service, channel, or medium. |
| 3.4 No Resale or Sublicensing The Buyer may not resell, sublicense, rent, loan, or transfer the Artifact or any rights thereunder to any third party. The License granted herein is personal to the Buyer and is incapable of conveyance to another individual or entity. |
| 3.5 No Modification or Derivative Works The Buyer may not alter, modify, adapt, translate, edit, reformat, or create derivative works based upon the Artifact or any of its content, in whole or in part. The Artifact is presented as a complete, sealed creative work and must remain so in all copies lawfully held by the Buyer. |
| 3.6 No Commercial Use The Artifact may not be used for commercial purposes of any kind, including but not limited to: commercial training datasets, AI model training, content generation pipelines, educational courses sold for profit, or any product or service offered for compensation. The License is strictly limited to personal, non-commercial reading. |
| 3.7 No AI Training Use The content of the Artifact may not be used to train, fine-tune, benchmark, evaluate, or otherwise inform any artificial intelligence system, large language model, machine learning algorithm, neural network, or automated content generation tool, without the express written permission of the Author. This restriction applies regardless of whether such use is commercial or non-commercial in nature. |
| 3.8 No Removal of Protections The Buyer may not attempt to remove, bypass, disable, circumvent, or defeat any encryption, watermark, digital rights management (DRM) measure, copyright notice, or protection applied to the Artifact. Any such attempt constitutes a violation of these Terms and may give rise to additional liability under applicable law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 1201). |
SECTION 4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND OWNERSHIP
4.1 All content within every Artifact published by The Grand Athenaeum — including but not limited to the narrative text, mythic-civic framework, character names, place names, cosmological structures, terminology, symbolic architecture, editorial apparatus, and formatting — is the exclusive intellectual property of Daniel. All rights in and to such content are reserved without exception.
4.2 The Universe of Destiny, including all its characters, cosmology, civic mythology, and narrative architecture, is an original creative work owned solely by Daniel. No element of the Universe of Destiny may be reproduced, referenced commercially, or incorporated into any external work without the express written authorization of the Author.
4.3 Purchase of an Artifact does not transfer any intellectual property rights, ownership, copyright, authorship, or moral rights to the Buyer. The Buyer acquires only the limited License described in Section 2. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by the Author.
4.4 The Grand Athenaeum name, seal, publishing identity, and all associated marks are proprietary to Daniel and may not be used, replicated, reproduced, or referenced in any commercial or public context without express written permission. Unauthorized use of The Grand Athenaeum identity constitutes trademark infringement and unfair competition under applicable law.
SECTION 5. DIGITAL DELIVERY AND NO-REFUND POLICY
5.1 All Artifacts are delivered digitally via secure download link upon payment confirmation. Delivery is immediate and automatic through the authorized store platform. The Buyer is responsible for ensuring that the email address and account details provided at the time of purchase are accurate.
5.2 Because digital Artifacts are delivered instantly and cannot be returned in any meaningful sense once accessed, all sales are final. No refunds, credits, or exchanges will be issued once the download link has been accessed or the file has been downloaded, regardless of the circumstances.
5.3 In the event of a verified technical delivery failure — including a broken link, corrupted file, or confirmed non-delivery — the Buyer must contact The Grand Athenaeum within seven (7) calendar days of the date of purchase to request a replacement file. Contact information is provided in Section 8. Requests submitted beyond this window may not be honored.
5.4 The Buyer is solely responsible for maintaining a personal backup copy of the purchased Artifact. The Grand Athenaeum is not responsible for files lost, deleted, or made inaccessible due to device failure, account deletion, platform changes, or storage issues on the Buyer’s end beyond the initial delivery window.
SECTION 6. WATERMARK AND TRACEABILITY
6.1 All Artifacts are embedded with a visible Grand Athenaeum watermark burned into every page, as well as invisible copyright metadata identifying the Author, title, and publication date. These features are applied at the time of production and are inseparable from the Artifact as delivered.
6.2 These marks are permanent features of the Artifact and serve as authorship identification in all copies of the file, whether held by the original Buyer or obtained through unauthorized means by any third party.
6.3 The presence of the Grand Athenaeum watermark on any copy of an Artifact — regardless of how that copy was obtained — constitutes traceable evidence of the Author’s ownership and the application of these Terms of Use to that copy and all persons in possession of it.
SECTION 7. ENFORCEMENT AND REMEDIES
7.1 Any violation of these Terms constitutes an infringement of the Author’s intellectual property rights under applicable copyright law, including the United States Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 101 et seq.). The Author’s rights under these Terms are cumulative and in addition to any rights provided by law or equity.
7.2 The Author reserves the right to pursue all available legal remedies against any Buyer or third party who violates these Terms, including but not limited to: injunctive relief, statutory damages, actual damages, disgorgement of profits, and attorney’s fees as permitted by applicable law.
7.3 The License granted under Section 2 is immediately and automatically revoked upon any violation of these Terms, without notice and without any further act by the Author. Following revocation, the Buyer’s continued possession or use of the Artifact constitutes unauthorized holding of copyrighted material.
7.4 The Author strongly encourages Buyers to report any unauthorized distribution, reproduction, or commercial misuse of Grand Athenaeum Artifacts by contacting the Author directly at the address provided in Section 8. Such reports assist in protecting the integrity of the Universe of Destiny for all Buyers and the broader community.

SECTION 9. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law principles or provisions. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, or to the breach, interpretation, or validity thereof, shall be subject to the exclusive personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of New York.
